Reference monitor with 3D-printed monocoque cabinet delivers holographic imaging, 40Hz bass extension, and exceptional transparency at this price point.

The LC2 begins with a question most speaker designers never ask: what if the cabinet itself made no sound at all? Lucca Chesky’s answer is a fully proprietary 3D-printed monocoque enclosure, filled with a compound of his own formulation to achieve a mass and rigidity rarely encountered at any price. Mounted to it is a solid 5/8-inch aircraft-grade aluminum baffle that locks the drivers in place and leaves only the cones in motion. The result is an enclosure that contributes nothing of its own, allowing music to emerge with the spatial precision and transparency typically reserved for components costing several times more.

The LC2 is a two-way standmount featuring dual-chamber aperiodic tweeters, a high-definition cast-basket bass/midrange driver, and dual inertially-balanced passive sub-bass radiators that extend low-frequency output to 40 Hz without a port. The crossover is precision-engineered with high-end internal wiring throughout. What the listener hears is a holographic, three-dimensional soundstage, where instruments occupy distinct positions in space, dynamics arrive with conviction, and the room seems to expand well beyond the speaker’s compact footprint.

Handcrafted Without Compromise

Every LC2 is designed and assembled in the United States using carefully chosen drivers, precision crossover components, and robust materials selected for honest performance and long-term reliability. No shortcuts, no outsourced compromises. Each unit is assembled, tested, and refined by hand, because the qualities that make a speaker sound natural and feel intentional are the result of process, not scale.

Rethinking the Enclosure

Conventional loudspeaker design treats the cabinet as a given. Lucca Chesky treats it as the problem. Rather than working around the resonance inherent in traditional wood or fiberboard enclosures, the LC2 cabinet is engineered from the ground up as a single high-mass structure, 3D-printed with a precision and consistency that conventional manufacturing cannot match. The monocoque construction increases rigidity, reduces resonance at the source, and preserves the spatial detail, depth, and air that lesser enclosures smear or suppress. The Absolute Sound recognized the LC2 with its 2026 Editors’ Choice Award.

Sound-First Thinking

Chesky Audio speakers are built around a single conviction: that everything standing between the listener and the music must be eliminated. By addressing resonance and distortion at the source rather than compensating for them downstream, the LC2 allows sound to project with unusual clarity, depth, and realism. The listening experience that follows feels far larger and more lifelike than the speaker’s footprint would suggest.

Chesky Audio is an American loudspeaker company founded by Lucca Chesky, who began designing speakers as a teenager after a summer research program at Princeton's Applied Acoustics Lab. It is no coincidence that his father is David Chesky, the Grammy-nominated founder of Chesky Records and one of the most demanding ears in audiophile circles. Lucca's insight was architectural: by engineering a 3D-printed monocoque cabinet that eliminates resonance at the source rather than managing it after the fact, the enclosure itself becomes part of the instrument. The result is a compact monitor that produces a holographic, full-range soundstage well beyond what its size suggests. The LC1 earned Gear of the Year honors and a Future Audiophile Product of the Year distinction, while the LC2 received The Absolute Sound 2026 Editors' Choice Award. Every Chesky Audio speaker is designed, assembled, and hand-tested in the United States.
