I own Bliss Hifi, a high-end audio boutique based in Minnesota. These AudioQuest Colorado XLR balanced interconnects are in on consignment from one of my local clients. They are a 1.5M pair. The cables are in good condition and in perfect working order, with some wear on the XLR connectors. The rubberized coating on the DBS battery packs has deteriorated slightly over time, making it sticky to the touch. This is a known cosmetic issue with older AudioQuest DBS packs and does not affect performance in any way. The DBS system functions normally. This is a discontinued model from AudioQuest’s previous interconnect lineup.

The AudioQuest Colorado is a balanced analog interconnect from AudioQuest’s previous reference lineup, designed at AudioQuest’s headquarters in Irvine, California. The Colorado uses solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) conductors, AudioQuest’s proprietary metal-processing technology that protects the wire’s surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication, resulting in an extraordinarily smooth and pure conductor surface that minimizes distortion. The cable employs FEP (fluoropolymer) Air-Tube insulation, where a thin-walled FEP tube is placed around the conductor with an air gap between, using air as the primary dielectric. This is significant because air has virtually no energy storage or release compared to solid insulation materials, reducing time-smearing and dielectric-related distortion. The triple-balanced geometry uses three conductors with a separate ground-reference conductor, ensuring that both positive and negative signal paths have equally low-distortion conducting paths regardless of whether the cable is terminated with XLR or RCA connectors. AudioQuest’s 72V DBS (Dielectric-Bias System) uses a pair of batteries (included) to create a strong, stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes the molecules of the insulation.
