I own Bliss Hifi, a high-end audio boutique based in Minnesota. This Aurender MC10 master clock is in on consignment from one of my local clients. It is the black finish. It is a single-owner unit in good condition and in perfect working order, with some wear on the top plate. This client ran the MC10 feeding his W20SE, which is also available from this collection.

The unit comes with its original box. Original paperwork and internal foam are not available. The unit will be packed securely in the original box with third-party foam to ensure safe transit.

A master clock is one of those components that sounds like it should not matter as much as it does. The W20SE already has an excellent OCXO clock onboard, and yet connecting the MC10 to it produces a shift that is immediately obvious and difficult to unhear. The soundstage snaps into tighter focus, images gain dimensional solidity, and there is a rhythmic precision and coherence to the music that makes everything feel more locked in and intentional. The MC10 uses the same rubidium atomic clock module as the MC20, which means you are getting identical 10MHz master clock performance without the dual OCXO word clock outputs that are really only relevant to dCS owners. For everyone else, the MC10 is the smarter buy. With four 10MHz outputs (two 75-ohm, two 50-ohm), it can simultaneously clock your Aurender server and a compatible DAC from Esoteric, CH Precision, or similar, or feed a dCS word clock input. If you are running a W20SE, N20, or N30SA and have not yet added an external master clock, this is the single most impactful upgrade still available to you.

The Aurender MC10 is a reference-grade rubidium-based 10MHz master clock generator, designed to serve as the timing foundation for a high-performance digital audio system. It shares the same rubidium atomic clock module, power supply structure, and vibration mitigation as the flagship MC20, delivering identical 10MHz master clock performance at a more accessible price point. The MC10 achieves this by omitting the MC20’s dual OCXO word clock modules and associated interface circuitry, which are only effective with an extremely limited number of DACs (primarily dCS). The rubidium clock module provides exceptional short-term frequency stability: less than 2 x 10⁻¹¹ at 1 second, less than 1 x 10⁻¹¹ at 10 seconds, and less than 2 x 10⁻¹² at 100 seconds. This level of stability establishes a new low for phase noise and jitter in the digital audio domain. The MC10 features four 10MHz master clock outputs via BNC connectors: two at 75-ohm impedance and two at 50-ohm impedance, outputting 0.7Vrms (plus or minus 10%). This configuration allows simultaneous clocking of an Aurender server and a compatible DAC or word clock. Compatible Aurender models include the W20, W20SE, N20, N30SA, and AP20 (any model with a clock input). Compatible third-party components include DACs and word clocks from Esoteric, CH Precision, dCS (Vivaldi, Rossini), and others that accept a 10MHz reference input. The unit is housed in a machined aluminum chassis with extensive internal shielding and vibration damping to protect the sensitive rubidium module from external interference.
