I own Bliss Hifi, a high-end audio boutique based in Minnesota. These three Bowers & Wilkins CT8.2 LCR loudspeakers are in on consignment from one of my local clients. They are sold as a matched set of three for left, center, and right duty. The speakers are in excellent condition overall, with one cabinet showing a small dent on the back corner and another showing a small scratch. Please see photos for details. All three are in perfect working order. These speakers were part of a 16-channel home theater system that has been taken down as the client prepares to move to a new home. Several other components from this same system are also available, including McIntosh amplifiers, a Trinnov Altitude 16 processor, and Nordost Tyr 2 speaker cables.

Original boxes are not available. Local pickup in the Minneapolis/Minnetonka area is preferred, but we will pack these securely for shipping if needed.

The Bowers & Wilkins CT8.2 LCR is a three-way open-box (vented) loudspeaker from the CT800 Series, B&W’s flagship custom theater line. The CT800 Series incorporates technologies from the iconic 800 Series Diamond and Nautilus loudspeakers, engineered specifically for custom home cinema installations. The CT8.2 features a 1.25-inch (32mm) tube-loaded aluminum dome tweeter derived from B&W’s Nautilus technology, which uses a tapered tube behind the dome to absorb rear-radiated energy and eliminate resonance. The 6-inch (150mm) midrange driver uses B&W’s proprietary FST (Fixed Suspension Transducer) design with a woven Aramid Fibre cone, which replaces the conventional rubber surround with a ring of foam that is acoustically transparent, eliminating the coloration caused by surround resonance. Two 8-inch (200mm) Paper/Aramid Fibre cone bass drivers handle low-frequency duties. Crossover frequencies are set at 400Hz and 4.5kHz. The unique modular baffle design allows the midrange/tweeter module to be rotated, enabling the speaker to be used in either vertical or horizontal orientation without compromising the acoustic center alignment. Frequency range extends from 31Hz to 45kHz (-6dB). Sensitivity is 91dB SPL at 2.83V/1m. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms (3 ohms minimum). Harmonic distortion is less than 1% from 80Hz to 20kHz and less than 0.5% from 200Hz to 15kHz. Recommended amplifier power is 50W to 500W into 8 ohms on unclipped program. Connectivity includes both Speakon and binding post connectors. The cabinet is finished in matte black, designed to sit behind an acoustically transparent projection screen.
