He is the original owner, and it is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age and perfect working order with no notable wear. This amplifier was part of a 16-channel home theater system that has been taken down due to a move.

The McIntosh MC303 is a three-channel solid-state power amplifier currently manufactured by McIntosh Laboratory in Binghamton, New York. It delivers 300 watts per channel continuously into 2, 4, or 8 ohm loudspeakers with peak power capability of 1,200 watts per channel. The amplifier features McIntosh’s proprietary Autoformer technology, which ensures full rated power output into any speaker impedance from 2 to 8 ohms while maintaining the lowest possible noise and distortion performance.

The MC303 was engineered specifically to drive a home theater’s front left, center, and front right channels, which carry the majority of a film’s soundtrack. It can also be configured for tri-amping compatible loudspeakers such as McIntosh’s XRT1.1K or XRT2.1K. McIntosh’s Quad Balanced design is employed throughout the signal path for superior noise rejection and channel separation.

Power Guard circuitry continuously monitors both input and output signals, dynamically adjusting input levels to prevent clipping distortion before it occurs. Sentry Monitor is McIntosh’s fuse-less short-circuit protection system that disengages the output stage when current exceeds safe operating levels, then automatically resets when conditions return to normal. ThermalTrak transistors and thermal protection circuits guard against overheating under sustained high-power operation.

Both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs are provided for system flexibility. The meters are peak-responding and can be switched off during theater use if they conflict with the viewing screen. The chassis is constructed from polished stainless steel with a half-inch-thick black glass front panel, monogrammed heatsinks, and custom machined aluminum handles.
