I own Bliss Hifi, a high-end audio boutique based in Minnesota and an authorized Synergistic Research dealer. These Synergistic Research Tranquility Pod UEF units are in on consignment from one of my local clients. Two are available, priced individually. The pods show medium to heavy cosmetic wear including scratches and scuffs on the top surface, consistent with having sat beneath or on top of components in a dedicated system. They look great once placed in position and work perfectly. This is the original Tranquility Pod UEF, now succeeded by the Tranquility Pod Carbon ($749 original MSRP, discontinued).

Each pod comes with its original packaging, active biasing circuit and wall wart.

The Tranquility Pod is the compact version of the Tranquility Base, delivering the same active EM Cell and Ground Plane technology in a 6 x 6 x 1 inch platform that can go places a full-size Base cannot. Place one on top of your DAC, under your preamplifier, on your amplifier’s chassis, or anywhere adjacent to a component’s circuitry, and the Pod’s EM Cell interacts inductively with the component’s internal electromagnetic fields to reduce distortion and lower the noise floor. It does not need a physical connection to the component’s signal path. The effect is the same family of improvements you hear from the full-size Tranquility Base: cleaner highs, tighter bass, a more expansive soundstage, and a general sense of the music breathing more freely. Placement matters, and it is worth experimenting with positioning above versus below and trying different components. Reviewers have found the Pod particularly effective on DACs, power amplifiers, and power conditioners. At $749 original retail, the Pod was already one of the most cost-effective upgrades in the SR catalog. At preowned pricing, it is an easy recommendation for anyone curious about what active EM conditioning can do for their system. Having two available means you can treat a pair of mono amplifiers or two separate components simultaneously.

The Synergistic Research Tranquility Pod UEF is a compact active electromagnetic conditioning platform designed and hand-built at Synergistic Research’s factory in California. It uses the same Active EM Cell technology found in SR’s PowerCell line conditioners and Tranquility Base isolation platforms, scaled into a 6 x 6 x 1 inch form factor. The Pod contains an Active EM Cell with UEF (Uniform Energy Field) technology and Graphene, along with Ground Plane technology. It works through inductive coupling: when placed under or on top of an audio component, the Pod’s EM Cell interacts with the electromagnetic fields generated by the component’s internal circuitry (printed circuit boards, traces, capacitors, resistors, transformers, and active devices) to cancel distortion and lower the perceived noise floor. No physical signal connection to the component is required. The active circuit is powered by a single-lead MPC (Mini Power Coupler) power supply. The rear panel includes receptacles for the MPC power supply and an Enigma Tuning Bullet for fine-tuning the Pod’s sonic character. A ground connection allows the Pod to be linked to a Synergistic Research Active Ground Block for additional noise floor reduction. Multiple Pods can be daisy-chained from a single MPC power supply. The Pod can also be driven by the optional Tranquility UEF LPS linear power supply for enhanced performance. Effective on all types of audio components including DACs, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, CD players, music servers, turntables, power conditioners, and even hard drives. The Tranquility Pod UEF has been succeeded by the Tranquility Pod Carbon, which adds a billet aluminum chassis with carbon fiber lid and carbon fiber performance footers.
