Design Philosophy

At Estelon, every millimetre of the design matters. From the precise position of each driver to every curve of the cabinet, the Forza Ultra is carefully shaped to interact naturally with the listening environment. The surrounding space becomes an integral part of the loudspeaker system.

At low frequencies, particularly below 100 Hz, sound behaves predominantly as pressure within a typical listening room rather than as easily localised waves. The Forza Ultra’s woofers are therefore positioned close to the floor, allowing them to couple acoustically with the surface. This improves efficiency and helps distribute room standing waves more evenly, supporting accurate and consistent bass reproduction across a wider listening area.

The two woofers are arranged according to Estelon’s Symmetric Driver Loading (SDL) principle. Their symmetrical positioning ensures that both drivers experience the same acoustic load and move in unison, contributing to bass reproduction with exceptional precision, authority and control.

Above 100 Hz, shorter wavelengths become increasingly sensitive to reflections, diffraction and driver placement. The upper drivers are therefore positioned higher in the cabinet and arranged in a carefully controlled vertical geometry to minimise unwanted reflections and maintain a stable stereo image.

The sculpted cabinet plays an equally important role. Its curved exterior surfaces avoid sharp edges around the drivers, reducing diffraction and helping sound disperse evenly into the room. Around the tweeter, the cabinet narrows with a carefully calculated curvature to further control high-frequency dispersion and maintain precise imaging across different listening positions.

The three upper drivers are mounted on an intentionally curved front panel so that, from the listening position, they are approximately the same distance from the listener. Combined with the precisely tuned crossover network, this allows their sound to reach the listener with a high degree of time coherency, supporting natural tonal balance, precise imaging, uncompressed dynamics and a lifelike soundstage.

Internally, the same philosophy continues. The marble-based composite cabinet, curved internal surfaces, lack of parallel walls and dedicated driver chambers are designed to suppress standing waves and structural resonances. The objective is simple: minimise the loudspeaker’s own contribution so that what remains is the recorded performance itself.

Cabinet Technology

The Forza Ultra cabinet is created from Estelon’s proprietary marble-based composite — a highly rigid, dense material developed specifically for the complex forms that define our loudspeakers. Its sculptural form is not only an expression of design, but an integral part of the Forza Ultra’s acoustic performance. Together with its carefully engineered internal structure, it provides a stable and acoustically controlled foundation for the drivers to perform at their best.

The Forza Ultra cabinet has no parallel internal walls, and its curved and contoured surfaces are engineered to minimise standing waves, structural resonances and unwanted acoustic reflections. The high-density marble-based composite provides exceptional rigidity and mass, creating a stable mechanical foundation for the drivers. At 150 kg per loudspeaker, the cabinet resists unwanted movement as the driver membranes accelerate, preserving both large-scale dynamics and the finest micro-dynamic detail.

Internally, the cabinet is divided into carefully engineered chambers, with each driver system provided with an enclosure optimised for its specific acoustic requirements. The woofers share a specially shaped sealed chamber, while the midwoofer operates within its own isolated enclosure. Curved internal surfaces, structural bracing and the inherent mass of the composite material work together to suppress internal resonances and standing waves.

Advanced internal damping further controls unwanted energy inside the cabinet. A carefully selected combination of natural and synthetic materials is used in specific locations and quantities to support clean, neutral and natural sound reproduction across the musical spectrum.

Driver Technology

At the heart of the Forza Ultra is an advanced four-way driver system created to reproduce the full musical spectrum with exceptional speed, purity and dynamic freedom. The custom aluminium dome woofers, Crystalid midwoofer and Crystalid midrange drivers were co-developed with Accuton, with each driver engineered specifically for its role within the Forza Ultra. The system is completed by Accuton’s newest-generation diamond tweeter, bringing exceptional resolution and extension to the highest frequencies.

Seamless Integration

All four frequency ranges are engineered to combine into one coherent acoustic presentation. Precise driver positioning and carefully tuned crossovers bring the individual drivers together into a unified whole, creating natural tonal balance, precise imaging, uncompressed dynamics and a lifelike sense of scale.

Woofer: 250 mm (11 Inch) Custom Aluminium Dome

Two custom-designed 250 mm (11 inch) long-stroke aluminium dome woofers form the foundation of the Forza Ultra. Co-developed with Accuton with direct input from Estelon engineers, each driver incorporates an advanced Neodymium motor system designed for exceptionally linear excursion behaviour.

The two woofers are arranged according to Estelon’s Symmetric Driver Loading principle, ensuring that both drivers experience the same acoustic load and move in unison.

The result is bass reproduction with exceptional precision, authority and speed, providing the physical scale and impact of the performance while preserving definition, texture and control.

Midwoofer: 190 mm (8 Inch) Custom Crystalid Dome

The 190 mm (8 inch) custom midwoofer uses Crystalid, the next generation of membrane material, and was co-developed with Accuton specifically for the Forza Ultra.

Crystalid combines exceptional tonal purity with high rigidity and remarkably low moving mass. This unique balance preserves the purity and extremely low distortion of the finest rigid membranes while approaching the speed and transient response associated with the lightest membrane materials.

Paired with an advanced Neodymium motor system, the Crystalid midwoofer reproduces the transition from high bass into the lower midrange with exceptional speed and continuity, preserving tonal information, dynamics and resolution through one of the most demanding regions of the musical spectrum.

Midrange: 90 mm (5 Inch) Custom Crystalid Dome

The 90 mm (5 inch) custom midrange driver was co-developed with Accuton and uses the same ultra-fast and highly rigid Crystalid membrane technology as the midwoofer.

Within the midrange, the qualities of Crystalid become particularly significant. This frequency region contains much of the harmonic information that defines the natural character of voices and acoustic instruments, making speed, low distortion and tonal neutrality especially important.

Crystalid’s combination of low moving mass, exceptional rigidity and extremely low distortion allows even the finest harmonic structures to emerge with remarkable effortlessness, purity and resolution. The delicate harmonics of the human voice are reproduced with exceptional naturalness, allowing subtle emotional expression and musical texture to remain intact.

The result is an exceptionally transparent reproduction of the critical midrange and lower treble, combining natural dynamics, remarkable clarity and an absence of mechanical character.

Tweeter: 25 mm (1 Inch) Next Generation Diamond

High frequencies are reproduced by Accuton’s newest-generation 25 mm (1 inch) chemical vapour deposited diamond membrane tweeter.

Diamond offers the highest speed of sound of any known material, giving the diaphragm exceptional rigidity and allowing it to respond to the smallest musical transients with extraordinary speed and precision.

The tweeter incorporates Accuton’s advanced multi-cavity rear chamber together with an updated custom surround. This architecture allows the diaphragm to operate without relying on excessive mechanical damping, preserving acoustic energy, transient information and the finest details contained within the recording.

Operating cleanly up to 60 kHz, the tweeter extends far beyond the audible frequency range, preserving harmonic structure and spatial information with exceptional speed, transparency and natural extension.

Crossover Design

The Forza Ultra crossover network is engineered as an integral part of the loudspeaker rather than simply as a means of dividing frequencies between the drivers. The crossover points are set at 90 Hz, 800 Hz and 2.5 kHz, with each network meticulously tuned through measurement and extensive critical listening to achieve precise time alignment, seamless frequency integration and natural tonal accuracy.

Each crossover is housed within an acoustically isolated chamber to reduce the influence of vibration and microphonics. Estelon’s Flat Foil Direct Coupling technique connects the components in a star configuration, providing a direct signal path to the loudspeaker terminals and minimising unnecessary electrical transitions.

The components are mounted on a specially developed plate that provides the precision and layout advantages of a high-quality PCB while avoiding conventional PCB materials in the signal path. Every crossover is hand-soldered using carefully selected materials, while cable lengths between the drivers, crossover network and loudspeaker connectors are kept to an absolute minimum. The objective is to preserve signal integrity and allow even the finest musical information to reach the drivers with as little interference as possible.

Custom Connectors

The Forza Ultra features an Estelon-developed connector system inspired by the action of piano keys. Designed as an integral part of the signal path, its spring-loaded mechanism provides a secure connection while reducing unnecessary electrical interfaces between the loudspeaker cable and crossover network.

The system accepts banana plugs, spade connectors and bare wire, and supports bi-wiring.

Beneath each connector, a high-grade copper foil ribbon routes the signal directly towards the crossover network. By reducing conventional metal-to-metal transitions and avoiding bulky conductive elements, the design helps preserve signal purity and fine musical information.

The connector assembly also avoids conventional metal hardware and carefully controls the dielectric materials surrounding the signal path. The result is a cleaner and more direct electrical connection, contributing to greater articulation, improved micro-dynamics and a lower level of signal contamination.

Isolation System

The Forza Ultra is supported by Stillpoints Ultra SS V2 isolators, selected to provide a stable mechanical interface between the loudspeaker and the floor.

Their internal ceramic bearing system is designed to dissipate vibrational energy and reduce the transfer of micro-vibrations between the loudspeaker and the listening environment. By mechanically decoupling the 150 kg cabinet from the floor, the system helps lower the effective noise floor, sharpen bass transients and preserve spatial information with greater precision.

The result is a more stable acoustic foundation, allowing the Forza Ultra to maintain clarity, control and imaging.

Bespoke Finishes

Sound may be at the heart of Estelon, but beauty surrounds it. The Forza Ultra introduces a distinctive two tone finish concept, giving its sculptural form greater visual depth and a more individual character.

A curated selection of high-gloss colour combinations is available, pairing a deep grey base with distinctive bespoke finishes. Personalised colours are available upon request.

Each cabinet is finished by skilled artisans in a process that takes several weeks. Multiple layers of premium paint are carefully applied, wet-sanded and polished by hand to achieve exceptional depth, consistency and surface quality.

Every finish reflects the same level of care and precision that defines the engineering of the Forza Ultra, resulting in a loudspeaker that is as carefully considered visually as it is acoustically.
