Ortvik practices the architecture of the audible, creating bespoke acoustic surfaces (integrated walls, sculptured ceilings, functional art, and acoustic furniture) that transform how sound inhabits a room. Founded by brothers Petr and David Hortvik and evolving from their earlier venture Ekustik, the Czech design-build studio composes each surface parametrically to master diffusion, absorption, and reflection with the exactitude of master watchmakers, hand-finished in solid hardwoods chosen for their sonic character as much as their beauty. From the Waveform and Waterdrop diffusers to the Alignment Absorber and low-frequency Trap, Ortvik doesn’t merely treat rooms but composes environments where architectural integrity and reference-level acoustics become one, guided by a simple conviction: the room is not separate from the sound; the room is the instrument.
