For just over a thousand dollars at retail, and considerably less at this price, you get a ground-up redesign of Cambridge Audio’s already award-winning CXN V2 platform with a proper ESS Sabre32 DAC, Gen 4 StreamMagic streaming module, Roon Ready certification, and native access to Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, Apple AirPlay 2, and Chromecast. The analog stage has been completely redesigned around the ESS ES9028Q2M, and the result is a presentation with genuine warmth, depth, and detail that punches well above its price point. Cambridge Audio’s StreamMagic app is mature and stable, which is more than can be said for some competitors at several times the cost, and the 4.3-inch color display on the front panel is a nice touch for browsing without reaching for your phone. The preamp mode lets you drive a power amplifier directly if your system is all-digital, and the 7-band EQ gives you room-tuning flexibility that most streamers in this class do not offer. If you are building a system on a budget, adding streaming to an existing analog-focused setup, or want a reliable secondary zone streamer, the CXN100 is a no-brainer at dealer demo pricing.

At its core is the ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 DAC, paired with a simplified, precision-tuned analog signal path designed to extract maximum performance from the 32-bit chipset. The Gen 4 StreamMagic streaming module provides processing for audio up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM, DSD512, and MQA. Streaming services include Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect (with MQA), Amazon Music, Qobuz Connect, Deezer, and Internet Radio, all accessible through Cambridge Audio’s StreamMagic app (iOS and Android).
