I own Bliss Hifi, a high-end audio boutique based in Minnesota. This Shunyata Alpha V2 NR power cable is in on consignment from one of my local clients. It is 1.75M in length (standard) with a 15A C15 IEC connector. The cable is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. At this time, two cables are available, priced individually.

The Alpha V2 NR is the cable Shunyata themselves call the best price-to-performance ratio in their Reference NR line. It shares the same VTX-Ag conductor technology and noise-reduction circuitry as the Sigma V2 NR, stepped down in gauge but still built with the same design philosophy and materials science. In a system where the Sigma V2 NR cords are handling the most critical components, the Alpha V2 NR is a natural fit for everything else, and it punches well above its price point. The noise reduction is audible immediately: backgrounds get quieter, texture becomes more finely resolved, and there is a composure to the presentation that generic power cords simply cannot match. For someone building out a full loom of quality power cables, the Alpha V2 NR is a smart place to start or a practical way to extend Shunyata’s noise-reduction technology across an entire system without the cost of going all-Sigma.

The Shunyata Alpha V2 NR sits in the middle of Shunyata Research’s Reference NR power cable line, above the Delta V2 NR and below the Sigma V2 NR. Like all Reference Series models, it was developed using the same materials science and technologies found in the Omega QR. The Alpha V2 NR features Shunyata’s proprietary VTX-Ag conductors, combining a pure silver inner core with a concentric outer conductor of OFE C10100 copper (99.99% purity, 101% IACS conductivity), formed into a hollow-core VTX geometry to eliminate skin effect and eddy current distortions. The cable uses fluorocarbon dielectric for minimal dielectric absorption. The built-in NR filter provides greater than 12dB of noise reduction at 1MHz, the same multi-element, wide-bandwidth design developed by Shunyata’s medical division, Clear Image Scientific, for cardiology and neurosurgery imaging systems. The filter is non-reactive and compatible with all power supply designs, including amplifiers. Termination uses Shunyata’s CopperCONN connectors with solid copper contacts, flash-plated with nickel for corrosion protection, housed in genuine carbon-fiber headshells. Each cord undergoes four days of KPIP (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process) conditioning. The standard length is 1.75 meters. Handcrafted at Shunyata’s factory in Poulsbo, Washington, and backed by a limited lifetime warranty (US and Canada).
