The Wireworld Silver Starlight 8 is a 75-ohm coaxial digital audio cable designed for reference-level digital signal transmission. It utilizes Wireworld’s patented Tri DNA Helix geometry, which arranges three groups of 12-strand conductors in a configuration optimized for the precise 75-ohm impedance required by the S/PDIF standard. The signal conductors are 24AWG (0.2 sq. mm) OCC-7N silver-clad copper, a material selected for its exceptional conductivity and low-level signal preservation. OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) is a specialized metallurgical process that produces long-grain copper with dramatically fewer crystal boundaries than conventional copper, resulting in lower signal loss and improved clarity. The silver cladding further enhances conductivity at the conductor surface where high-frequency digital signals travel. Composilex 3 insulation, Wireworld’s proprietary composite dielectric, minimizes triboelectric noise and provides superior shielding from electromagnetic interference compared to conventional insulation materials. The BNC connectors feature silver-clad OFC contacts for maximum conductivity at the connection point.
