I own Bliss Hifi, a high-end audio boutique based in Minnesota and an authorized Unison Research dealer. This Unison Research Unico Primo integrated amplifier is a dealer demo unit purchased from the US distributor in December 2024. The unit is in very good condition with a minor chip under the front face from being dinged during a customer loan that can likely be touched up. Approximately 200 hours of use on the tube. The unit is in perfect working order and can be sold with a remaining manufacturer’s warranty of 17 months. This unit includes the MM/MC phono stage.
The unit comes with its original box, remote control, and all accessories.
The Unico Primo is the amplifier that keeps showing up in “best integrated under $3,000” conversations, and there is a reason for that. It is a hybrid design that gets the balance right. The single ECC83 (12AX7) tube in the Class A input stage gives the music a warmth, dimensionality, and harmonic richness that pure solid-state designs at this price simply cannot match, while the MOSFET output stage delivers 80 watts per channel with real grip and control in the low end. It does not sound like a tube amplifier trying to muscle through difficult passages, and it does not sound like a solid-state amplifier trying to fake musicality. It sounds like a coherent, musically engaging amplifier that happens to glow. The build quality reflects its origins in Treviso, Italy: the chassis is beautifully proportioned, the surface finishes are refined, and the attention to component selection and assembly is evident the moment you take it out of the box. Five line-level inputs and a built-in MM/MC phono stage make it genuinely versatile, and the subwoofer output is a thoughtful inclusion for systems that pair the Primo with a sub. Stereophile measured it and gave it a Class B Recommended Component rating, noting its excellent performance for the price. The ECC83 tube is inexpensive, widely available, and easy to roll if you want to experiment with different sonic flavors. At 200 hours, this tube has barely been touched.
As an authorized Unison Research dealer, I am happy to answer any questions about the Primo, tube rolling options, or how it pairs with different speakers.
Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for your consideration.

More about the unit:
The Unison Research Unico Primo is a hybrid integrated amplifier designed and handcrafted in Treviso, Italy. The circuit topology pairs a Class A vacuum tube input stage with a solid-state MOSFET output stage in a complementary pair configuration operating in Dynamic Class A. The tube complement is a single ECC83 (12AX7) dual triode, which handles both channels’ voltage gain duties. The output stage uses complementary MOSFET power devices biased in Unison Research’s Dynamic Class A mode, which maintains Class A operation across a wide portion of the output range. Power output is 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms. The amplifier features five line-level analog inputs (RCA), a tape output (RCA), and a dedicated subwoofer output (RCA). The built-in MM/MC phono stage (now included as standard) provides phono input with selectable MM (47k ohms/220pF) and MC (100 ohms/440pF) loading. Input sensitivity is 260mV. Input impedance is 50k ohms. Frequency response extends from 10Hz (-0.2dB) to 100kHz (-0.5dB). Total harmonic distortion is 0.15% at 10W/1kHz. Channel separation is 83.7dB at 1kHz. Signal-to-noise ratio is 90dB. Negative feedback is 10dB. Damping factor exceeds 50. Speaker outputs use heavy-duty binding posts. The chassis features an aluminum faceplate with the Unison Research logo and a window revealing the ECC83 tube. A full-function remote control is included. Power consumption is 380W maximum. Dimensions: 435 x 95 x 430mm (17 x 3.7 x 16.8 inches, W x H x D). Weight: 14kg (30.8 lbs). Stereophile Class B Recommended Component.
